The workforce is changing – and employees expect more

The data is clear, the modern workforce expects employers to make mental health a central aspect of their business operations.

Competition for talent is fierce – and even those you can least afford to lose, your top performers, are likely struggling with mental health issues. If you do not take action, the costs to your organization can be enormous:

  • Highly experienced managers failing spectacularly
  • Personality conflicts that divide everyone into competing camps
  • Poor communication that dissolves team cohesion
  • Employees “phoning it in” and lowering the quality of their work.
  • A systemic collapse in morale and motivation.

Maybe you tried implementing mental health training and offering more leave, but is that really enough?

The costs are real – and substantial

The costs of mental health issues and team conflict are real. That is not just your feeling. In fact, the costs may be even worse than you think.

Each individual employee with a mental health issue costs their employer an average of $15,000 per year mostly in the form of lost productivity.
